It has been a while since we not coming back to the space/workshop that contains every our activity: online catalogue composition, shop windows, communications, presentations and everything in general gives life to the shop. In fact everything takes place inside the boutique in Via Santa Lucia, in Padua city centre. Here the collections selected during the buying campaign find their placement, they are interpreted and put together in combinations possible only in context where different brands live together, as happens in our space. For this reason it seems to us interesting sharing fresh seasonal glimpses that is not possible to imagine just watching the pictures on the website.

Talking about this…any suggestion to improve our job? The pictures with a darker background, lights and shades extending the garments movement, slow down the catalogue exploration or instead allow to understand with more likelihood the wearability of jackets, dresses, sweaters, etc?…

Emerging reality, located in the famous textile district of Carpi, Italy, Un-Namable makes use of the precious local manufacturing heritage to realize a womenswear line easily integrable with the formal complexity of the most important exponents of the so-called Japanese school.

With an increasing interest and wealth of content, a timeless fashion idea is consolidating itself, freely accessible, without any aesthetic conditioning from the specialized press. A front that express itself particularly in the work of young designers, prepared by the richness of spurs, of contaminations and experiences offered by a contemporaneity definitely shortened by the speed of the informations.

So it’s inevitable to look for similarities and evocations in the Un-Namable clothing: Carpe Diem? Rick Owens? Koeun Park herself of Forme d’Expression could be the stylistic references of Eita Nakamura, the very young Italo-Japanese designer of the Emilian company. A particular attention in researching fabrics with a ‘worn’ appearance, not blended colours, just outlined geometrical shapes, basically opened, allows Un-Namable to place itself in the best international exhibition spaces.

A great balance between planning quality, textile offer and costs accessibility makes the new brand a perfect trait d’union between worlds usually reserved to a more elitish public and the need of representation of vanguards still not so much included and interpreted.

The season sales could be boring, with the pedantic reappearance of garments already seen and maybe perceived, euphemistically, as leftover stock. But this is also the moment when the more relaxed rhythms allow us to go into and to share the vision of the choices still present in our shop.

In fact we are able finally to make available one of the film shot during the Paris Fashion Week, March of the next year, at Y’s Yohji Yamamoto showroom.

From the 1990′s, during the buying campaign, we got the habit to shot our selections. A supplementary work, which introduce itself in the complex activity of the seasonal buying, to start the comprehension of elaborate collections, often difficult, even for the mere fact of being very far and different from what the conventional channels usually show and advertise. This commitment, maybe not excellent from a ‘technical’ point of view, brings forward and allows to metabolize the garments that will be housed in the shop.

It’s a video heritage that not only will gradually compose our wide documentary archive, but could quietly insert itself in the present, to appreciate at their best garments, in many cases already part of the winter wardrobe of our customers, that are still available in our online catalogue and naturally at our shop in Padua.

But we could also say “young prospects!” to introduce that curious collaboration between the proactive enthusiasm of a group of twenty-year-olds, lovers of photography, music, art and the long IVO MILAN clothing sector experience.

The Mood Board, creators of the new-born blog of the same name, have involved shop staff in an experimental shooting with which to start trying their hands at a yet unexplored area for them: fashion

Easily deceptive, full of crossed wires and stereotyped references, the label does not really match the long, well-rooted IVO MILAN tradition in its search for clothes and shapes that are far from any obsolete seasonal trend; thus, inevitably, differences of opinion but, above all, that fatal question:

how do others see us?

Seeing how young our collaborators are, they probably won’t give us the most articulate, aware answer. But that is no reason to discard such a young point of view, open to comparison, to accepting criticism and advice and to defending its green, passionate skills.

By taking the opportunity to look beyond the offerings of the online catalogue we indeed find not so well-known combinations of clothing with unfamiliar names and limited shop distribution that have retained the same original freshness of ‘new arrivals‘. Need an example?

Katrien Van Hecke is a a young Belgian designer who works with silk (only from Italy), and eco-friendly dyes made exclusively from wild herbs and plants, such as mint, chamomile and elderberry, or with spices more commonly known for their culinary uses rather than in textiles, as cinnamon, turmeric and chili pepper.

And there is also Vlas Blomme, whose name comes from the Flemish for ‘flax flower‘ and pays tribute to the fine flax selection of Kortrijk, used for most of the garments of the Japanese designer Satoshi Ishii.

Linen and silk cloth, natural dyes, comfortable and asymmetrical lines are the hallmarks of a brand particularly sensitive to the more relaxed pace of summer.
